ToggleWHAT HAPPENED?
Arsenal fans are riding high after their stunning Champions League quarter-final victory over current holders Real Madrid. The Gunners pulled off a convincing 5-1 aggregate win, sparking dreams of European glory. However, outspoken pundit and former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan has issued a word of caution, suggesting that this Madrid team are not the force they once were.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Los Blancos, however, are a team in transition. Languishing four points behind Barcelona in La Liga and humbled by the likes of AC Milan and Liverpool already this season, their aura of invincibility has undoubtedly diminished. Jordan also took a dig at Mikel Arteta over his sole FA Cup win for the Gunners, pointing out that he beat an inexperienced Frank Lampard, who was in the Chelsea dugout.

WHAT SIMON JORDAN SAID
Replying to a message from an Arsenal fan claiming the club beat the best team in Europe, Jordan said on talkSPORT: "But they're not the best team in Europe. They're not even the best team in their own league. They've got the best record in Europe over previous seasons.
"We can't judge people by what they have done, we can judge them by what they're doing. Ultimately, they're not the best team in their own league. They're not winning the Spanish league, they're not going to win the Spanish league, they've been smashed 4-0 by Barcelona, they've been beaten by a variety of sides leading into this game.
"I don't want to diminish Arsenal's performances but when we're talking about inexperienced managers, Arteta won a cup final when Frank Lampard was in the dugout and he was also an inexperienced manager."

WHAT NEXT?
Arsenal will face PSG in the semi-finals of the Champions League, while Jordan's so-called 'best team in La Liga', Barcelona, will face Inter Milan.
