Arsneal have completed the sale of academy graduate Charlie Patino as the 20-year-old moves to Deportivo de La Coruna.

Patino had been linked with an exit from Arsenal as he is not in Mikel Arteta's plans for the future. The 20-year-old has now moved to Spanish second-tier side Deportivo de La Coruna for a reported fee in the region of £1 million ($1.3m) along with the Gunners now holding a significant sell-on clause.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Patino joined Arsenal's youth system in 2015 at the age of 12 and made his official debut with the senior team during a Carabao Cup quarter-final tie against Sunderland at Emirates Stadium in December 2021. The central midfielder spent the last two seasons on loan at Blackpool and Swansea City, however, this season he decided to leave on a permanent deal.

Patino has become a fan favourite with Gunners fans over the last couple of years and Arsenal supporters have been asking for the Watford-born player to be incorporated into Arteta's first team. Fans have also expressed their anger towards the club for their willingness to sell the highly-rated Spanish-British wonderkid.

WHAT NEXT FOR PATINO?
The England under-21 international will now get incorporated into the Spanish side's squad and will hope to be involved when they take on Racing Ferrol on Sunday, September 1.
